If you add a photo to your profile, your friends can see it in their contact list and when they’re chatting to you.
You can either browse your computer for a profile picture,
or take a video snapshot using your webcam.
To add or change your profile picture:
- Sign in to Skype.
- From the menu bar, select Skype > Profile > Change Your Picture…
- To select a picture from your computer, click the Browse button and find the picture you want to use. It can be in the file format .jpg, .jpeg, .bmp or .png.
- Skype automatically resizes your picture so that it fits the default picture size. If you want to control exactly how your picture appears, choose one that is 96x96 pixels.
- To take a video snapshot, click the Take video snapshot button, then click Take a snapshot, and when you’re happy with it, click Save snapshot.
- Click OK. Your new picture is displayed in your profile for everyone to see. Note that you won’t see it when Skype is in default view, but you can check that it’s there by clicking Skype > Profile > Edit Your Profile….
You can also change your profile picture by going to Skype Home. Just click
your Skype Name, and the Skype Home tab is displayed in
the main window.
