Misc. Error #1040 and Misc. Error #1050 in Skype for Mac OS X mean that the telephone number you are entering is invalid or incorrectly entered. These errors are the same as #10404 and #10503 in Skype for Windows version.

Please recheck that the number exists and dial it using the proper international dialling format.
