It's easy to transfer a call. And if you are transferring a call to someone else on Skype, it's free.
Transferring a call to a landline or mobile costs
a little. If you have a subscription,
transferring a call to a landline (or mobile, where applicable)
in a country covered by your subscription is free.
To automatically forward your calls without having to transfer them yourself,
you can set up Call forwarding.
To transfer calls, you will need Skype 4.2 for Windows or above. If you're
not sure which version of Skype you're using, it's easy
to find out. Transferring calls is not
available in Skype 5.0 for Mac or above.
You can transfer a call to more than one person, and if you have created a contact category you can transfer the call to some or all of the people in that category. If you transfer a call to more than one person, the call will be transferred to the person who answers first.
You can transfer a call at any time – either before you answer the call or during the call itself.
To transfer a call before you answer the call:
- In the call window, click the button.
- In the window that appears, select the person you wish to transfer the call to, or use the dropdown list to select a contact category if required. Alternatively, click Enter another phone number to transfer the call to a phone number.
- Click Transfer to transfer the call.
To transfer a call during the call:
- In the menu bar, click Call > Transfer Call...
- In the window that appears, select the person or contact category you wish to transfer the call to. Or click Enter another phone number if you wish to transfer the call to a phone number.
- Click Transfer to transfer the call.
