How can I set up call forwarding?
|
|
It’s easy to forward incoming calls. You can forward them
to another Skype contact for free, or with a calling subscription or
some Skype Credit you
can forward incoming calls to a phone or mobile.
Once you've set up call forwarding, your incoming calls will be forwarded even
when you are not signed in to Skype. If you set up call
forwarding but it does not work as expected, these
tips can help to fix your problem.
To set up call forwarding:
- Sign in to Skype.
- In the menu bar, click Tools > Options.
- Under Calls, click Call forwarding.
- Click Call forwarding options and tick Forward my calls to.
- Either:
- Enter a phone or mobile number. Click the flag to find the relevant international dialling code. If required, click Add more phone numbers to forward calls to up to three different numbers.
- Enter the Skype Name of the contact you want to forward
calls to. Make sure that you enter the Skype Name
correctly. Note that you can’t forward calls to a
person who hasn’t accepted your contact request.
- Specify how many seconds to wait before calls are forwarded.
- Click Save to set up call forwarding.
Please note that:
- If you set up call forwarding and have also set up voicemail,
incoming calls will first be forwarded to the number(s)
you have entered, and if there is no response the call
will then be sent to voicemail.
- If you have set up call forwarding to forward calls
to another Skype contact, and that contact is offline,
incoming calls will not be forwarded. Instead, callers
will hear a message that the contact is offline (or they
will be sent to the voicemail of that contact, if it has
been set up).
- Call forwarding to another Skype contact is free.
Call forwarding to a phone or mobile is available:
- At no extra cost with a subscription,
provided that you set up call forwarding
to a landline (or mobile, depending on your subscription)
in countries covered by your subscription.
- For a small charge per minute using Skype
Credit.
- If you make a Skype-to-Skype call to someone who has
call forwarding, you won’t pay anything when your call
is forwarded.
