You must ensure that your computer is on and Skype is running in order for the call to come through. If you are not signed into Skype the call will either ring busy or be redirected to voicemail according to your voicemail preferences.
You must also ensure that you are using the latest
version of Skype.
If you’re still not receiving calls to your Online Number, or if your Online Number is ringing busy, you probably need to adjust your privacy settings to allow incoming calls. Please follow these steps:
Skype for Windows
- In Skype select Tools > Options
- Click the Privacy tab, then under Allow calls to my Online Number(s) from… select anyone, and click Save.
If the privacy settings were already configured like this, complete the two steps below to refresh the settings.
- Go back to the Privacy tab by selecting Tools > Options and change the privacy settings to allow calls to Online Number(s) from phone numbers in my Contact list only and click Save.
- Wait approximately 5 minutes then open the privacy settings once more and change the setting back to anyone and Save.
Skype for Mac
- In Skype, go to Skype > Preferences > Privacy
- Under Receive calls to my Online Number from, select Anyone.
If the privacy settings were already configured like this, complete the two steps below to refresh the settings.
- Go back to the Privacy tab by selecting Skype > Preferences > Privacy and change the privacy settings to allow calls to your Online Number from Only people in my contact list
- Wait approximately 5 minutes then open the privacy settings once more and change the setting back to Anyone.
